Our 6 hour Rescue Emergency Care (REC) EFAW course complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for qualifications of workplace First Aiders.


The course will provide you with fundamental live saving skills and then show you how to apply them through a systematic approach to first aid through instruction and practical scenarios. The course content will include:
  • Incident assessment;
  • Calling for help;
  • Treatment of the unconscious casualty;
  • CPR and using AED;
  • Choking;
  • Treatment of bleeding;
  • Contents of a first aid kit;
  • Medical emergencies;
  • Minor injury (cuts, splinters, minor burns);and
  • Accident reporting.


Candidates are assessed by ongoing practical assessment by the tutor throughout the course and a short multi choice question paper. Accreditation Our courses are delivered through Rescue & Emergency Care (REC) who meet the standards specified by the HSE for Due Diligence for first aid providers.


Successful completion of the course leads to a Rescue Emergency Care (REC) Emergency First Aid At Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
